Sea World Shekou is renowned for the Anceveller, a luxurious cruise ship built by the French. The ship had its name changed to Anceveller in 1973 when China purchased it. In 1984, the famous Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping stayed overnight during a visit to Shekou. During his stay he left the inscription “Sea World” on the cruise ship.
